Time is symbolically an ocean. It has different parts which are the waves. The salt symbolizes the different effect that time has on each and every one and thing.
The size of the waves is how full you lifespan is. The bigger the wave means your life is more filled with events then the smaller waves. However waves both start and end small, which tells us that we both start and end our life with little. We have a great deal going on in the middle of our lives.
The rocks in which waves hit are the obstacles we run into in our live. Most waves survive the rock symbolizing most lives survive the obsticles.
